With the summer in full swing, we can’t help but reflect on all of the ways our chapter celebrated our community in the Spring semester! Here’s a short recap:
Before the semester kicked off, we all headed back to Waco for this school year’s formal recruitment. Our theme for this recruitment season was “Celebrated & Adored,” and at the end of it all, we were able to welcome 95 New Members into our chapter!
Immediately following recruitment, our chapter hopped right into preparing for this year’s All University Sing act, “Caught Red Handed.” The production followed the story of Little Red and the Wolf, an adaptation of the popular fairytale of Little Red Riding Hood. We are so thankful for the work our Sing chairs put forth, as well as the countless hours women in our chapter dedicated to practicing and performing this act.! The act received 2nd place in the 2024 All University Sing competition and the People’s Choice Award for Best Choreography! We can’t wait to perform at Pigskin this fall!
A few weeks after the fun of Spring Break, members of the Theta Kappa Chapter dedicated a week to raising money for Make-A-Wish. Profit shares, t-shirt sales, and sign-ups for this year’s Philanthropy event, Swishes for Wishes, all contributed to our chapter being able to raise a grand total of $11,400.35 for Make-A-Wish North Texas!
We can’t forget about our social events! We held our annual mixer event, KOT Crawfish Boil, as well as this year’s White Carnation Formal. We also hosted Mom’s Day at Glory Bell Coffee, where actives were invited to celebrate their mothers and participate in fun activities including painting tote bags! Towards the end of the semester, our chapter was also able to have a Take-A-Date event at Hawaiian Falls Waterpark!
Thanks to the work of our intramural chairs and each member who participated in intramurals, our chapter won Intramurals for the 2023-2024 school year!
We ended our semester with Dinner Meeting, where we were able to celebrate all of our graduating seniors and spend time together as a chapter before summer began.
Over the summer, members of Theta Kappa are doing it all: studying abroad, working internships, serving at summer camps, and relaxing before we hit the ground running in August! We can’t wait to participate in all things fall semester, such as Pigskin, the homecoming parade, and recruitment! Grateful for our sisters who make every semester the best!
